Ten Letters Chapter 2
In "Ten Letters Americans Tell Their Presidents" chapter two is about an African who relates to being a little the same as president Obama. He is a black kid whose father is in jail, mother by herself and bullied in school. Stefan Johnson is the black boy in high school and he supports president Obama. Stefan at school gets made fun of and fights against racism. Stefan is running to be student president and he is the only black kid wanting to do it. He barely got votes and thinks for sure he wont win the student president election. Stefan didn't tell his mom but also he knew he was not rich because his father was in jail. Having only a single mom, every time they moved to apartments and each time they did, they moved into smaller and smaller apartments.
Stefan doesn't argue because he knows it wont change nd tries to be positive. Stefan wrote a letter to president Obama and he actually responded back saying that they are proud of him and to keep it up. Stefan called random people saying great things about Obama and said things about him. He is in college now and he and his mother are happy.
